After five years in California my family is returning to Texas. YEEEE-HAW!!
I start at Heatwave Interactive as Audio Director (managing and A/V department) on February 2nd.
While I have loved Obsidian, and our experience in California has been very valuable, SoCal is not a place to raise a family on one salary, unless you're insanely rich. There's a lot of other reasons I'll go into not the least of which are those damn jacked up trucks ;)
Needless to say we're very excited and relieved to be moving and will keep you posted as to developments.

Worst news I've heard all day. But if it's what you want, then congrats. =(
Please tell me you're coming to GDC at least? What about Obsidian?

O_O does this increase chances of you working on Deus Ex 3?

quite the opposite. now he is a family man, who will be busy for the next 15years or so. plus you need to give time to yourself to be creative. you just cant be running around here and there and expect to turn out a masterpiece. there is a time and place for everything.
yeah what can you do, its life. you choose priorities over others.....
