I'm sure everyone reading this knows this already, but this holiday season has an unprecedented set of game releases, all fully taking advantage of next generation technology. I don't think we've yet seen such a bold step into such a big "across the board" change in gaming since the 1990s venture into 3d. A brief list of the games I want to eventually get my hands on are:
Halo 3
Mass Effect
Crysis
Unreal Tournament 3 (with pieces remixed from originals by yours truly, more on that soon)
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Super Mario Galaxy
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
The Orange Box
My home time is severely limited. I spend so much time away from my family that I want to spend time with them almost exclusively at home. This hopefully will change when we get a multiplayer console to supercede our aging GameCube. In the meantime I will schedule specific play time for these titles (well, at least the relevant ones) at work.
Have you CS readers played them yet? Write in and provide your own reviews! Revel in the great influx of holiday hits. :)

hi alex, yeah this hol season has many nice games for us to play with. I got me a beta copy of ut3 demo a while back. and i was very happy to see your old tracks remixed at the website music menu!! i gave me those old memories back. however i ut3 doesnt look as great as i expected it to be. my collection to check out on the pc would be HL2 Episode 2, Portal, Team Fortress 2, TimeShift, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warefare, Gears of War,
Crysis. Happy hols!

Speaking of next-gen games, I was hoping to get a comment from you Alex about the upcoming Deus Ex 3 recently announced. I know it's very unrealistic, but I was hoping there had been some kind of communication between you and Eidos about contibuting a score for the game. Even if it's never gonna happen, rest assured no man is more suited for the job.
Sincerely
asker

UNREAListic Deus Ex 3? where did you hear that? well no matter what, i doubt if alex could pull of another masterpiece in his career (it would be awesome!), another mona-lisa perhaps?

Hi Alex
To keep it short, Crysis has set the new standard for fps, simple as that. UT3 is also very nice, I love how Epic turned back to the original UT feel.
Oh.. and the remixes blew me away, they are really great! It just wouldn't be the same without them!
And it was also great to hear the official announcement of DX3. Just like UT3, I really (REEEALLY!!) hope you will somehow be involved in this project. *fingers crossed*
I got goosebumps when the music in the teaser kicked in lol. ;) Like Suneel said, no man is more suited for the job!

heh.. original tracks from UT '99 sounds much better than remixes from U3. Toxeen (operation na pali) - the only one, who got the same oldschool style and taste as old unreal's tracks.
Damn.. I really would like to see 'na pali' in modern graphics, than play UT 2003, 2004 etc.. :(

Hey Alex, I have played Crysis, UT3 and all the Orange box games, Crysis is superb, but don't bother unless you have Bill Gates personal gaming machine cos it will lay siege to your PC! Unreal Tournament 3 is good, a bit samey, but it lacks the whole "TOURNAMENT" aspect that I bought it for (having missed out on 2003 & 2004). However it was awesome to hear that music again.
All the Orange Box games are simply Superb. Every Single One, Superb. Anyway, the real reason for me writing this is I only found out about you this evening as I was trying to find out who wrote the music for Deus Ex because I love it so much and listen to it all the time. On wikipedia it says
"He also released several CD albums. They are titled:
AtmosphereS: Cultures (with Dan Gardopée)
AtmosphereS: Dreams (with George "The Fat Man" Sanger)
AtmosphereS: Moods (with Dan Gardopée)
AtmosphereS: Pulses (with Dan Gardopée)
AtmosphereS: Rhythms (with George Sanger) "
I was just wandering if this is correct and if so where i can purchase them because i can only find one album on your website and it's not enough!!!! Also PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE write to Eidos Montreal about Deus Ex 3 and tell them that YOU ARE DOING THE MUSIC WHETHER THEY LIKE IT OR NOT, it simply must have your influence or it will suck for everyone. Anyway thanks a lot, your music is the best. Ciao.

"Also PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE write to Eidos Montreal about Deus Ex 3 and tell them that YOU ARE DOING THE MUSIC WHETHER THEY LIKE IT OR NOT, it simply must have your influence or it will suck for everyone" ha ha...hey tom i wish too. but then we know what will happen :( upper management never have any aesthetic sense, they just want to make profit and push the product, they dont want to spend more money on a talented hi profile composer. their motto-> spend less and get more profit, ***k the quality! so save your old tracks and keep em safe
