New Website, New Music
Here it is! My first music website.
Ever since I started writing music on the Ad Lib, I have wanted to release an album. Thanks to my wife and interest from the community, I've done it.
They say start small. Well, it started with an email from fan Scott Larson recommending I make my music more publically available. Next came "hey, you should totally do that!" from my wife Jeanette. Then she darn well made a site that did it. What a woman.
Era's End, the first release, is aptly named. With some co writing and the entirety of "Free Fall" written by Bryan Rudge, some guitar by William Wallace (now working at Bioware in Austin), and some beautiful vocals from Jeanette, it represents old school computer music making and modern studio finesse.
Parts of the music were written in a tracker, of all things. Parts were written in Nuendo, the high end of PC based studio digital audio workstations. It uses ancient 90s samples and more modern Waldorf and Absynth. It is a conglomeration of the old and the new, but the whole thing says "I defy standard albums because I have many different song styles". I truly hope you enjoy it.
Thanks Brandon, the tracks are really awesome! You do some powerful stuff. Now I need to put my money where my mouth is and pay up :) which I do not mind doing at all. Thank you for listening to your fans, we really appreciate it.
Ill email you in a few days and follow up with that you tube thing, once I get the album I thought i might work with some audiovisuals and see what you think for a video.

Hey Alex, great to see this, listening now. :) Really good stuff as usual.
I think my favorite piece of your's I've heard is this (yes, I'm one of the many who discovered you through the DX soundtrack):

I'd love to hear an expanded, fleshed out version of that track someday. ;)
Keep up the awesome work, I will continue to listen.

Much obliged Scott! And to Carl, I must make a clarification. Naval Base was composed by Dan Gardopee (Basehead) for Deus Ex. Credit where credit is due.

Aww, sorry Alex, I fail. Regardless, the rest of the soundtrack is great as well. :)

Hello from Paris France ! I started discovering your -Era's End- album in the middle of the night, and I'm listening to it again and again... it's great. Really. I like your music since Tyrian (as you already know), DX and IW are my favourites games' soundtracks, and it's a great pleasure to discovering new tracks from you. Especialy when they are awesome !
I really appreciate Incubus, Guru, Open Road, The Dragon Fly, The Muse, Oracle... it's old and new, and it's good.
Of course I bought all of them ;)
Awesome work. Thanks !!

the album could have been better considering the capabilities of its creator. the tracks i really liked are The Muse, Incubus, Freefall and Two steps. The best track in this album is incubus. It a well defined electronic track. Freefall for some wierd reason reminded me of another track called muscle cars by mylo. I like the terrific tension buildup at 4:55. but it ends soon after that, i feel there the song could have been extended more with another theme with a pad or something. They danced also ends abruptly. open road immediately reminded me of the track in deus ex for the nicolette duclare chateau level. Some of the keys gave the vibe similar to the starting tune in duclare chateau level. The guru stands of well, but this track could have been better. The rest of the tracks are too classicial for my taste. all in all a good start!

Ah yes, all albums have room for improvement. I'm glad you enjoyed these though, suneel. And having checked out your myspace page and cool tunage there also I can see you're no spring chicken. I'm honored at being in the same list for your inspiration as Eat Static and Orbital. Hot damn. :)

yes your a real musician :) & humble. you make music that moves the heart rather than move up the top 40-charts

Hi Alex!
It's truly hard finding you e-mail adress.
I'm glad you opened up a webpage so people like me can show appreciation for your work. I found your music through Unreal when I got raging goosebump from many of the game's songs. Can you imagine my reaction when I booted up Deus Ex for the first time and heard that amazing tune? I could hardly walk for days.
These days, the worst spasms are gone, but I don't think a day passes without some music from Jazz Jackrabbit 2, Deus Ex, Unreal, or music from any of your other amazing soundtracks going through my ears.
I rank you among composers such as Koji Kondo or Nobou Uematsu. The sad thing is that you, to my knowledge, no longer make music for games. And since your style is so unique, finding music like it is next to impossible. I don't even know what genre to look for.
Anyway, just wanted you to know what huge of an impact you have had on my life, and other people as well I'm sure.
Sincerely
asker

Hello Alex.
First things first, I`ve got to say most sincere thanks for your work on Deus/Ex/Unreal/UT/Thief 3/Turian sound and music. If there is something that truly unites those titles, it has to be sound excellency. Tracks from those are still in my player after all those years...any plans on new music in similar to, say, Deus Ex style?
Oh, and now gotta complain a little: a week or so ago I was listening to Era`s End while working and it was superfine, but today I fired it up and it plays only 1/3 of the song and then skips to next track, where whole skipping thing continues, and it goes that way right till the end. FreeFall, for example, plays only 1:20, while, AFAIR, it runs for good four minutes.
I thought it was my PC`s problem firsthand, so I asked my mates to check it too, and they all had similar issue.
We all hope it could be resolved.
Cheers from Russia. :D

Wow. Thanks so much asker, I truly appreciate the good words. I really am all over the place stylistically and yes, that's why it's not really available per se in your average record store :) But I'm working on that...
And to Slade, the music on Era's End was originally available for a full preview (100% try before you buy), but a kind soul pointed out that the music is then available in Temporary Internet Files for someone who knows how to look. This is the first album I'd really like to actually sell, since I worked for quite awhile on it, so Jeanette changed the previews to be shorter. If you like what you hear, 99 cents a song isn't so bad (just like iTunes in fact!).

Hey Alex, was listening to the previews. Just was wondering where to put money down for it. This post should have my email, so if you would kindly link me, I'd be happy to purchase the album.

Hi! I'm sure you get this question a lot, but I was wondering if there's somewhere I could download or buy JJ2 music?
I found a place where you can download a zip, but it doesn't do any good on my mac.
Is there anything you can suggest?
I've been looking for the music from that game on and off for about eight years...
(In case you're curious, my favorite tracks are the underwater one, The first 2 (which are the same song) from the "Back In Time" section, and the very last one, with the sweet electric guitar.
